About Us

Robert had spent the first thirty years of his life farming, so plenty of experience in managing and handling stock. We had a pedigree herd of Sussex cattle.  We also finished several hundred cattle for the supermarket trade each year.   We also ran a flock of Mule ewes, the lambs going mainly for export on the hook.

We found the alpacas pretty easy to look after, but have been very grateful for the back-up, help, and advice given from others when needed.    Now of course we are experts!!

For the last three years we have shown at our local shows, we have had a little success in spite of many competitors who are very strong in the white classes!

In the spring of 2007 we decided to buy our own macho.  We were fortunate to be able to buy Blenheim Peruvian Eros, a proven sire.  He is a son of Accoyo Don Carlos, who has left his mark on the Blenheim herd.  Having seen Eros as a youngster, and been very impressed with his success as Reserve Junior Champion Male at the 2002 National Show, we felt he would be a good addition to our herd.
We were even more pleased to have him when the F&M and BTV movement restrictions came in, making movement to outside sires impossible.

As we have a number of Eros daughters coming into the herd , we decided to purchase another solid white male during the autumn of 2009, Cambridge Cardinal of ACC has now joined Goodwin Alpacas.  He is a son of the famous Ruffo.  Again as with Eros he has plenty of Accoyo blood in him.  We look forward to seeing his cria.

Having looked at a number of coloured males, (so many disappoint after the white males)   we found Kilnwood Daedalus. He has an Accoyo sire, a good frame, plenty of bone and very good fleece. This has been shown by his show record, both in the ring and in fleece shows.  He joins Goodwin Alpacas this spring 2010.

During the winter of 2007 we made another purchase, our first black female alpaca Sherlin Narnia of Cambridge arrived from New Zealand.  Her sire, Cedar House Amar has been a very successful male. We are now looking forward to Narnia’s progeny.

Now, having reached the maximum we can keep, we have animals for sale.   enquiries
